Grandmother Medicine Circle is an invitation to be connected to the healing hands and practices from grandmothers, globally. My original intention was just to share the practices my grandmother passed down to me. But I kept having dreams that called in more grandmothers who have blessed me on my path. This is just some of the magic they taught me, to be offered to those open to receiving
ABOUT US
My name is Florcy. I was born into a family, tradition, and lineage that has always put Spirit first. I come from people that have used prayer, plants and hands to heal themselves and others. I’ve seen my people build new worlds and possibilities with nothing but a prayer and magic. I’m just but one vessel that is here to share. None of this is possible without my elders. I’ve been working with plant medicines since birth when I was submerged in plant banos. I also am a certified herbalist and received my knowledge on plants through The People’s Medicine School.
MY ELDERS
My first teacher, My grandmother. The one who first taught me how to pray immersed in water, facing the sun to God. She birthed 7 of 9 of her children on her own, kneeling to God. She is known to cure evil eyes from people. My grandmother works with plant medicines and her hands serve as testimonies to all that she heals. She teaches me that the materials you use will never be functional if the prayer and faith that goes into them is not strong. If you do not have this, strengthen your connection to God first. Everything she knows about healing comes from Creator. Element: Earth
My Papa, Pana. The one who has taught me how to work with the element of fire. He shows me how candles can be used to cleanse, manifest, call in, manipulate and work directly in your favor. His grandfather and elders from his tribe taught him how to work with plant medicines to heal physical and spiritual ailments. He also studied at the metaphysics school in Egypt where he learned their systems of healing. My papa is well known in our community and often gets called to perform spiritual work all throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Element: Fire
Julianna who teaches me how to work with the power of prayer and ceremony. She teaches me that I dont always need to be directed and that in fact it is necessary to trust my own intuition. She passes me the materials for our ceremonies and lets me know “tu corazon recuerda” (your heart remembers). She has taught me the magic of our land and how to move with the different energy of the nawals. In our tradition, nawals guide us throughout our daily life, and major miles stones of our lives depending on the one we are born with. Padiush (thank you) Element: Air
Thaliba, my aunty in Cuba. A santera and well respected espiritista in Cuba has taught me the power of water. She teaches me about different spiritual baths for clearing energy, manifesting, calling in a sweet life. She teaches me to take my lessons like water, I can allow them to nourish and cleanse me, or I can choose to let them drown me out. But if I know and respect water, then it will always remember and hold me. She teaches me the importance of community, history and the women who have built many new worlds.
